A time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away. Ecclesiastes 3:6

Let it go. This is something that I am learning about more and more everyday. Anybody else a control freak? Yeah, that’s me. I get anxious when thing don’t go the way I want them to or I get super let down if things don’t go my way. I have to learn to let go and let God. I know that God has a perfect plan for my life, but I still try to do things my own way even though I just have to trust God.

Can’t Do It On My Own

Anyone ever struggle with addictions? And when you try to break those additions you can’t? That’s because you cannot do it on our own. You cannot do life alone. You need God and you need others for accountability. Have you ever tried to plan out your day or your life and things just don’t go the way you planned? I think many of us have an idea of what we want our life to look like and that’s a good thing, but you shouldn’t get so caught up in the way you want it to go. You need to make sure your minds are prepared for change. God can turn your life upside down because His plan is always way better than ours.

Prepare For Change (Things don’t always go our way)

Just because things don’t go your way, doesn’t mean it is wrong. -Liv Mancini

It’s funny when I think about how I viewed my future in the past. I never thought I would be where I am today. I know this is true for a lot of people. Things don’t always go as planned, but it doesn’t mean that your life is wrong. I never thought I would be a teacher at my church’s school. I never thought I would be doing ministry. I never thought I would be a mom this young. Are those things wrong because I didn’t plan them? Not at all. God turns all things together for our good! If I had tried to fight to keep my “plans” instead of going with the flow of the Spirit then I wouldn’t be living in so much peace for the season of life that I am in now. So how do you plan for change? First of all, have a plan of your own, and pray about it as you write it down. And when something doesn’t go your way, thank God. You know His ways are higher, so why fight Him? Don’t let your plan change steal your joy! Enjoy the change, embrace it. Live in the moment and be grateful that God is in control.

We Need To Be Okay With Change

When you get caught up in your plans not going the way you want, you can be subject to disappointment. Set yourself up for success so you can be okay with change and rejoice when things don’t go your way. Let God lead, surrender to His will. You know that verse that says,

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

This is apart of the Lords prayer. We all pray this for our life but are we actually letting Him lead? Are we actually okay with His WILL being done? Or are we afraid to let it go? What will He do? I am terrified of letting GO. I feel like if I let go then something horrible will happen. (This is where my anxiety kicks in). But does my God do that? I think too often I think back to the story of Job and I feel like “Will God take everything I have and everyone I love if I let go?”. This is my thought all the time, am I alone in this? Will God actually take everything I have when I let go? God loves me. He is a Father, and whatever He has for my life is GOOD. As long as I am obedient to Him and I love Him and serve Him, then what He wills for my life is for my good. It is scary to let go. But we must let go, we must surrender our lives to Him. His will is perfect, even when things don’t go our way.

So don’t be afraid to let go. It’s okay, He is good, His plans are good. Our way isn’t always the right way… And I am learning that every single day. I hope this was encouraging to you! Be sure to share with friends, and comment your thoughts! I would love to hear from you. Blessings.
