FAITH IS CONFIDENCE
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
Faith is confidence. Do you have faith? Does it make you confident? Are you fully trusting of God? I think to some people this is pretty obvious. I mean, you’re a believer, you should trust God and have faith, right? That’s what I thought too. Sometimes I feel like faith is more said than done. I think we say we have faith that God can do things because that is what we are taught in church, but do we really have faith to move mountains? We hear that saying a lot! We hear it so much that I think we take it for granted. Just imagine right now you speaking to a mountain, “MOVE” and it moves. Like, that’s insane. In fact, it’s amazing! And we only need a mustard seed of faith to do that. Do we have faith to do that? If not, does that mean our faith is even smaller than a mustard seed? That’s pretty small. We should have faith bigger than that. God has moved greatly in my life. So why is it that I have a hard time believing that He will move mountains? I read all the stories in the Word about the amazing things that happened, the miracles. And it makes me sad when people say that God doesn’t move like that anymore, or that He doesn’t pour out His Spirit anymore or that He doesn’t speak to us anymore. But that is ALL a lie. It’s a lie from the enemy to keep us away from God. You know what the Word of God says? MY God is the SAME and He NEVER changes.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
He was the same then, He’s the same now and He will be the same forever! That means ladies and gentlemen, that God still moves today! Just like He did then. We must have faith. He will do it again. Think back on your life; do you see fruit? Do you see God’s faithfulness in your life? It doesn’t have to be something huge, but maybe something like never going without. You might feel as though you don’t have money for anything that you want, but God has provided you with everything that you need. You have a home and food on the table. He is watching over you. Or maybe He puts someone in your life to speak truth to you when you feel as though God is silent.
We all need to remember that He never changed, we did. Our whole world changes every single day. We get tired of praying after 5 minutes and give up. We are lazy and we don’t press through. We need to press through. Turn off the T.V, put your phone away, and pray. You want God to move in your life? You need to make an effort. He isn’t going to do all the work for you. You need to meet with Him… Have faith! He has overcome the world. We must be confident in our prayers, confident in our faith! His faithfulness will see you through.
