Priceless By Alaina Allen
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
I like this scripture verse above because it reminds me that it doesn’t matter if I wear makeup or not. Have blemishes or no blemishes. God doesn’t care unless you have a loving and pure heart. We must focus on working on our inward appearance. How do we focus on our inward appearance? Let’s start with the main topics: heart and insecurity.
A great majority of people have insecurity. They’re so focused on their outward appearance. They want the best clothes, the best hairstyles, best makeup, and even biggest muscles or best smile. They are so insecure about these things. I’m not saying that wanting to look your best is bad. What I’m saying is that it’s not important to God. What God sees is not what man sees. God looks at your heart. He looks at whether you are going to help that person in need, forgive that person that hurt you, give a gift to your enemy, in love, even when they don’t deserve it, and so on.
We are priceless. We are priceless because God doesn’t make junk. He doesn’t make mistakes. So, don’t think for one second that you are a mistake or worthless. God has a plan for each and everyone of us. We all have a purpose and part to play in His plan. You might not know it yet, or just don’t understand it.
“I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you
Oh, so priceless
Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you
Oh, so priceless
No matter what you’ve heard
This is what you’re worth
More than all the money or the diamonds and pearls
Oh, this is who you are
Yeah, this is who you are.”

“She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.” Proverbs 3:15
We need to keep pressing into God and seeking to find more of Him each day. We need to ask Him to give us pure hearts or how to have one. Only God can direct you on the right path to a pure heart. Just ask! I encourage everyone to try not to be insecure about what others think of you, instead remember who calls you His masterpiece. Remember who desires you to have pure hearts. God doesn’t look at your outward appearance, but your heart. All you need to do is ask for forgiveness from God and others when necessary and use God’s word to guide you the rest of the way. His word will help you to maintain a pure heart after you have repented.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8
