Look after you so you can help more
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 KJV
Have you ever been on a plane? You know how people usually say that in an emergency situation when the oxygen masks come down, to place your mask on first so you can help the person next to you? You have to take care of you to take care of others, to save others effectively. As a new mom I find it hard for me to take care of me while caring for an infant. But, I have to try to find time for me so I can be a better mom and wife.
God wants us to be okay. We cannot help other believers or non-believers if we are not okay! If we are struggling with lust and a friend comes up to you and tells you that they are struggling with lust you cannot effectively help them because you yourself haven’t found a way out. God always gives you a way out. You need to find help and seek the Father so you can point others in the right direction. You use your testimony to help others. Or even if you haven’t gone through the same thing someone else has, you can confidently say that Jesus is the solution and you can be there for that person. You must be strong in your walk and confident as you lead others around you.
If a pastor, worship leader, or minister isn’t seeking the Lord daily or getting filled with the Holy Spirit then how can he effectively serve the body? We ourselves need to be filled so we can pour into others. Ask the Lord to fill you to overflowing so that the anointing is flowing out of you and into others lives.
How can you take care of you?
-Pray daily
-Worship and give glory and honor daily
-Read the word
-Talk to God
Put in the effort to walk with God so He can use you for mighty things! He has great plans for you! Trust in Him and take care of you.
